Upcoming classes and events in Portland

Spring started yesterday, but it’s hard to believe–we hear that people are having snow days in the Gorge and down in Eugene. Even though is it cold and wet outside, the trees around the factory are budding, making plans for April and May. We’re making plans, too…

NEW CLASS
Designing and Using Part Sheets | May 4–5 & 7, 2012

Learning to work with part sheets could very well revolutionize the way you design in kiln-glass. Part sheets are unique sheets of art glass that are made to be cut up and incorporated into other works, as design elements. They’re extremely versatile, providing ways to add pattern and depth to your finished work and even layer with frits and stringers, which flatten out when pre-fired in the sheet. If you’d like to inject fresh new possibilities into your practice, join this class. You’ll make three part sheets and three finished plates while investigating a broad range of techniques. The course is led by artist, designer and popular Bullseye instructor Bonnie Celeste. Learn more
