BASIC KILNCAST GLASS
Nathan Sandberg

November 19-20 & 22 (CL0103-0004)

Friday-Saturday & Monday, 9am-5pm

This class introduces students to the hand-built refractory mold process through a series of casting projects. The first casting gives students an opportunity to get their hands dirty with a basic open-faced casting. For the second project, they will use found objects to create three identical molds that will be cast in frit, sheet, and billet to illustrate the unique qualities of each glass form. Students will learn basic coldworking skills in addition to firing procedures and investment recipes. No prerequisites.
