Working Deep is a method of floating or embedding imagery or color within a thick block of glass. The method involves stacking and fusing multiple layers, using the transparency of the material to create a three-dimensional design. Whether the design is achieved with layers of powder and frit or intercut sheet glass, the finished work will have a sense of depth, with imagery and color that's as complex or as simple as your personal style dictates. In this lesson you will learn how to create individual design layers, lay up a block to control bubbles and minimize coldworking, and considerations for damming, firing, and finishing the work.
