Bullseye has long worked with emerging and master artists by offering a type of residency called an "artist exchange." Our artist exchanges encourage the development of new creative methods, while advancing our materials research and educational-support efforts. In this lecture, Director of Research and Education Ted Sawyer presents the work and work practices of artists who've collaborated with Bullseye. The program includes technical information, slides of processes and finished pieces, and a description of how the residencies have benefited participating artists, our company and the entire glass movement.
Reserve some time on Sunday for this expansive lecture. Don't forget to RSVP. Email resourcecenter@bullseyeglass.com or call 503-227-2797.
The following June classes still have spaces available. Both appeal to beginning as well as more advanced students.
BULLSEYE BOX CASTING Tom Jacobs

Box Casting is a fascinating but simple kilncasting technique in which a reverse-relief glass object is made inside of a box-shaped mold. The resulting glasswork has the optical clarity of a furnace casting. Participants create one finished piece and leave the class with the skills they need to continue working in this popular method. For more information, see TipSheet 5: Bullseye Box Casting in the TipSheets section of

THE GLASS SKETCH Tom Jacobs
June 11-14 (CL0845)
Monday-Wednesday, 10:00am-5:00pm
Thursday, 10:00am-noon
$395
Even students who are nervous about drawing enjoy this class because sketching on sheet glass with glass powders and frits is not like working with traditional mediums. In some ways, it's a far more fluid and forgiving technique—one that can inspire an incredible range of expression. Participants will fire at least 8 sketches, composed with a limited palette of black and clear frits, powders, and stringers.
