Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Focus on the particular advantages of using glass frits in the kilncasting process. In this workshop, you'll explore the careful modulation of color that can be achieved with tint mixing, textures, and a range of firing temperatures. By the end of the class, you'll have completed four open-faced castings—and learned basic mold making processes, firing procedures, and coldworking skills.

Having worked with studio-glass artists from Denmark to Canberra and throughout the Pacific Northwest, Surgent now creates fused and cameo-engraved panels that, in her own words, "question the influence of both place and perspective on human identity."
