Introduction to Kilncast Glass and Coldworking
With Erik Whittemore
September 17-21 (CL0860)
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

This class introduces students to a variety of kilncasting and coldworking methods. A clear block is provided to lead students into the cold shop and its possibilities. Students also design and cast multi-colored glass blocks that are later rough ground, flat lapped, lensed, and polished. Through a "lost clay" project, participants go step by step through the hand-built, refractory-mold process and further refine their coldworking skills.
