Perhaps I should rephrase.
Can you use a stainless steel fusing plate instead of kiln wash on your shelf or thin fire paper etc.?

Hello,
We don't recommend you use a metal plate as a separator on your shelf, even stainless steel which is used sometimes as a slumping mold at lower temperature. The glass will stick to the stainless if you use it like you would primer or thinfire. There is also the issue that Stainless shrink at a different rate than the glass, which would not be ideal at higher temperatures over 1400 Degrees.
I hope this helps, tks.
