Beadmaking with Bullseye

Postby kgkennedy » Tue Mar 02, 2010 1:50 pm

I was reading about hot head torches being good for beadmaking with softer glass, such as effrete or moretti at 32 coe, but these torches not being as effective with stiffer glass, such as Bullseye at 90 coe. Can I use torch heads sold at home improvement stores which also use mapp or propane? I know they go to a higher temp. and I see glassblowers use them for spot heating on batch that is 90 or 96 coe? So what about it?

Bullseye is one of these softer glasses. Effrete/morette is normally 104 Coe and Borosilicate 32CoE.
Yes the hothead torch will do the bullseye as well as the effrete or S96
