problems with confetti fusing

Postby alicearts » Mon Sep 27, 2010 7:50 am

I have used confetti glass in my last two fusing pieces and have run into problems. I fuse twice and the first fusing is fine, but in the second firing I get a U-shaped crack form in the piece. It is barely visible at first, when I look at it at a angle, it is visible. I am sure to order fusible bullseye confetti but wonder if the problem is compatibility. Is the confetti glass sensitive to multiple firings? I used blue and white confetti/black stringer glass and autumn confetti glass.
I must be honest, I was also having problems with an anneal crack but have since lengthened my anneal time in my schedule and seem to have rectified that issue. But this doesn't seem like an anneal crack to me.

Thanks for the picture. Can you also supply the firing cycle(s) used on this piece and explain the original design of the piece (size, layup).
