large scale casting molds

Postby bill.seismic » Mon Nov 05, 2018 5:00 pm

I'm looking for information on how to cast repeatable texture panels (partitions, table tops etc) with clean surfaces on both sides. A dimension example would might be 4x8 feet by 1/2 inch. I see examples of these in commercial applications but getting an answer on how they are created has been elusive. Textures normally translate through the piece. Thanks in advance for your help! Bill

Hi Bill--

By "clean" do you mean "polished"? If so, casting a glass table will always require polishing on the surface that was against the mold or kiln shelf.
