Hello - I made a fused glass coral bowl and the surface ended up being devitrified. I have read that red glass is susceptible to devitrification, and I wondered if there is a recommended schedule to use in order to avoid this happening. I fired on kiln paper using tomato red bullseye glass (or it may have been pimento red opaque?) I vaguely remedied the surface with devit spray and firing again, but it wasn’t totally successful. This hasn’t happened with the other colour of bullseye glasses that I have fused in the same way, under the same conditions. Does anyone have any advice on how to avoid the red suffering from devit? Thanks in advance.
