tinned copper wire

Is all tinned copper wire the same? I bought14 AWG Gauge Tinned Copper Wire Buss Wire 100' Length 0.0641" Silver from Remington and fused it between BE opalescent at 1425 degrees F. The wire came out uneven, weak ,and a matte silver color that can't be polished off. This is completely unlike other tinned wires I have used. I wrote to Remington and they were clueless. Any idea what is going on?
