Help about SO2 in float glass technology

Postby maabdolat » Sat Apr 02, 2016 6:06 am

I am chemical engineer, and working on Float Glass industry and during my internship;
i found many questions which are still a question mark in my mind ....

I need to ask some questions regarding TinBath, and i will grateful to you if you help me.....

Sometimes, we experience White powder ( cleanable ) on bottom surface of glass sheet which removes after increasing SO2 flow rate.... I am a bit confused about the White powder material.... can u explain me what is that material and how it is removed after increasing SO2 flowrate,....

1.Is this material is SnO2 or Na2O?
2. if it is SnO2, then how it is removed by using SO2?

Kindly explain
