Glass enamel Firing

Postby vsanches357 » Wed Jan 23, 2019 2:18 am

Hello,

I am a student and relatively new to glass work. I am experimenting with Glass enamels and printing onto glass and am struggling to find any information on a firing schedule. I am printing onto 3mm Bullseye Glass, but I want to fire just to set the enamels rather than fuse pieces together, but don't know how long I need to fire it for. Any advice?

Thank you :)

Hello,
We do not have a lot of information on enamels, but you can find some in this link from Colorline, which is the line of enamels we sell and use. http://www.bullseyeglass.com/methods-id ... icleid=752

The lowest temp to fire these enamels on the glass is 1300 deg. You can try the following schedule, it should be a good starting point.
400 to 1000 hold 5 mins
600 to 1300 hold for 10 mins
As fast as possible to 960 hold 30 mins
200 to 700 hold 1 min
down to room temp
I hope this will help!
