Fine polishing after slumping

Postby bgsanta » Sat Dec 07, 2019 12:17 pm

I have slumped a bowl and was left with a fine grainy texture on some spots on the inside. Is there anyway to polish that off and keep the shine?
Mold - Big Bowl 8973
300 to 1080 :01
50 to 1200 :30
AFAP to 900 1:00
100 to 700 :01
Glass is 2137-0030 Medium amber white streaky
Thank you for your help

Do you know what caused the grainy spots? Is it devitrification? Are the grainy spots in the lowest part of the bowl? You might be able to fix it with clear glass powder.

See if this technique seems like a solution to the issue: https://www.bullseyeglass.com/methods-i ... flaws.html
