I was hoping that someone could help me with a firing schedule to fuse various layers of plate glass. I stumbled onto a brilliant article written by Bullseye Glass Co. on glass plate fusing and wondered if anybody on this forum could help me in a similar matter.
I'm in the process of making a telescope lens and need to fuse different pieces of glass together to make one whole. I have one schedule below, but it seems overly excessive. Steps 5-7 seems to last too long, as the annealing of the glass finishes in step 4. Would love to get your input. The author of this firing schedule is not a potter nor glass smith, I would love a professional to weigh in.
I'm planning on fusing different layers of plate glass, till about 3 inches thick. I desire the layers to be fused and as much air to escape as possible between the layers. Also, I need to take care in removing all internal stress (annealing process?).
