Does it matter which face of the petrified wood is in contact with the robins egg blue?

Hi,

It does not matter which side of the glass you use for the purposes of the reaction.

The video about using Petrified Wood and Robin's Egg Blue Bowl does not address the question of whether or not the Petrified Wood glass is food safe. The reaction is beautiful but how can it be made safe for food?
