You will work with other members of the team, students, teachers, and world-class artists to perform process and materials research with kilnformed glass, which you will carefully document. Hands-on experience in the arts, materials science, and basic scientific/laboratory technique is extremely helpful. Exp. w/Mac, Word, Excel and databases a +. Hours: F/T.

Frit/Material Handler, Swing Shift

This is a unique full-time job opportunity in our QC department helping to assist in our glass crushing Frit area. Warehouse and inventory experience a plus, detail oriented, forklift experience a plus, and legible handwriting a must. Qualified applicants will be required to lift 50 lbs of crushed glass (on a regular basis), and work with minimal supervision.

This full-time position is key in the production of our glass. The position entails using a forklift to receive and store raw materials, accurate measuring, weighing and mixing of raw materials. The ideal candidate must be a good listener, work well in a team and with minimal supervision, have excellent attention to detail, ability to lift 50 pounds, and the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Forklift and warehouse experience a plus.
This position works Sunday - Thursday with a rotating shift: 2 months on day shift, and 2 months on swing shift.

This is a unique retail environment: part classroom, part glass-art supplies.

Our Resource Center serves an international customer base from fine artists to
hobbyists. Help us cater to their needs for Portland’s most colorful
product: Bullseye glass.

This is a unique full-time job opportunity running Bullseye’s Rod Production line.  Ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our glass rod drawing operations, performing quality control functions, kiln repair, trouble shooting, recordkeeping and inventory control.  Production and/or hot glass experience helpful.  Ability to work independently a must, being detail oriented, organized plus legible handwriting a must, and the ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis a must.

Requires ability to follow verbal and written instructions, attention to detail, and self-motivation a MUST! Job entails working near hot furnaces, and working with molten glass.

You will also be responsible for process and product research, fabrication, customer technical support, and all aspects of being part of the team, from grime to glory. Hands-on experience in the arts, especially ceramics, and/or basic scientific/laboratory technique is extremely helpful. Experience w/Mac and PC, Word, Excel and Outlook a plus. Bachelor degree preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Valid Oregon driver’s license a must. Hours: Full-time.
