GLANC Business of Art seminar

  • Description

Glass Alliance of Northern California (GLANC) presents "How Stuff Works: The Mysterious Mechanics of Assessing, Exhibiting, Selling, and Collecting Contemporary Glass Works," part of its "Business of Art" series.

This two-part seminar looks at the broad field of contemporary studio glass from a range of perspectives, both to assess its present state and get a glimpse of its future.

In the morning session, Bullseye Gallery curator Michael Endo and director Lani McGregor discuss the sometimes mysterious, sometimes mundane factors that influence how a gallery selects artists, either for representation or exhibition.

In the afternoon, Endo and McGregor will be joined by artist Clifford Rainey, collector Steven Aldrich, and Julie Muniz, a former curator for the Oakland Museum of California, for a lively panel discussion exploring how the various players impact and influence each other.
