Mold Tips: Cone Bowl

Overview

Fusers have dubbed the Cone Bowl slumping form “the ice cream dish mold.” The bowl it produces has a wide rim (7.75 inch diameter) and a narrow base (2.25 inch diameter)—a large reduction for a depth of just 2 inches. This steep drop into a narrow space requires special attention to mold preparation, firing schedule and placement in the kiln. So Bullseye R&E staff have prepared a sheet of detailed instructions to help everyone who wants to use the new mold.
