Sein de Verre: Breast of Glass, A Class Benefiting Breast Cancer Research

FOR RELEASE September 16, 2019—Every year, breast cancer afflicts hundreds of thousands of women in the U.S. By the end of 2019, Breastcancer.org estimates that nearly 270,000 women across the country will have been diagnosed with an invasive form of the disease.

To stand in solidarity with women everywhere and foster healing community through art, Bullseye Glass Co.'s Portland Resource Center will host a new Glass for Good class called Sein de Verre: Breast of Glass. In this unique 2.5 hour class, students from all skill levels will learn the kilncasting technique of pâte de verre (French for paste of glass) and use it to create a fabulous sein de verre (French for breast of glass).

Finished pieces will be fired in our kilns and available to pick up a few days later. They will be one-of-a-kind, handmade awareness-raisers for breast cancer. What's more, 50% of class tuition will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The class will take places on Wednesday, October 2, from 6-8:30pm. Women and men of all experience levels are welcome.
