It’s been over a week since I got back from the Glass Art Society conference in Pittsburgh. I’m still recovering. I’d love to spend some time writing about it, but I’m busy packing for my next trip to North Lands.
GAS? What was so special? In short, the stuff I absolutely LOVED…
Rudy Gritsch managing to make the Transformation Point relevant to Glass & Life. I just adore this guy’s mind.
Whoever the French artist was who washed all those buildings in Glass & Light.
The Japanese exhibition at the Pittsburgh Glass Center.
Sylvie Vandenhoucke’s mind-boggling pâte de verre.
Clifford Rainey freaking out about the approach of his Big 6-0. (When he’s not in überangst, he’s also delightfully articulate about his work)
Tina Oldknow talking about anything.
What I really DID NOT love:
The thought that we’re hosting this conference in Portland next summer and we’d better get it together FAST, ‘cuz Pittsburgh set an awesome standard.
PORTLAND…PORTLAND…PORTLAND…GAS 2008!!!!!!!
