Here's another reason to stick with glass from a single manufacturer: accountability.

At Helios we sell Bullseye because we love the glass. And we love the fact that when something goes wrong and we can't figure out why we have one company to call.

It's not just the reds, yellows and oranges. I've had issues with Uros peacock blue and BE. I just stick to BE now and have no more issues!

Go ahead, Gary, rub my nose in dead cat ashes. Good glass takes time.

I think a lot boils down to the simple fact that while compatible glass fusing is not "rocket" science, it is still science. I really feel that a lot of the reason I love fusible glass is the geeky-ness of the medium. Wishing something is going to work (ie. Uroboros and Bullseye Playing Nice Together) isn't going to make it so. Having spent a fair amount of time corresponding with the BE techies (hi kids!) on some admittedly esoteric issues makes it pretty clear how touchy the process is that goes into making Bullseye truly compatible. When there is no agreement on a "standard" (I still push for sticking the Unknown on a hunk of Tekta and making that test the Standard) outside of the BE house, it's kind of wishful thinking to think that things will All Work Out.

But, beyond that Lani, when are you going to make the Oft Mentioned, Little Accomplished "Ed Glass". The Dot's Late Lamented Kitty's dust is awaiting a receptacle made out of glass from a fellow feline. No pressure here...not from me...no siree...

Steve,
I hope you aren't implying that my other cat has to croak. ;-)
